Software Engineer

One of our Federal Government Clients is seeking to engage a Senior Software Engineer (Developer) – EL1 Level . This is a long-term contractual position.

Contract Duration: 03 Years (12 months initially + 24 months extension)

Work Location : Canberra, Brisbane, Melbourne, Sydney and Adelaide (03 Days office/02 Days home per week)

Eligibility: You must need to have Baseline Security Clearance or above.

Tentative Start Date: 1st March 2027

Working Hours: 40 hours per week

• Strong hands-on experience in C# / .NET developing, enhancing and maintaining enterprise applications.
• REST APIs – experience designing, developing and integrating RESTful APIs.
• C# / .NET
• Oracle 11g/12c SQL and PL/SQL
• JavaScript
• VB6 (Visual Basic 6) – experience supporting or enhancing legacy applications.
• IBM Cloud Pak for Integration (CP4I) – integration platform experience.
• Software engineering lifecycle – experience delivering software from requirements analysis and design through development, testing, deployment and production support.
• DevOps and automation – experience managing CI/CD pipelines, automated builds, deployments and release processes.
• PowerShell scripting – automation and deployment support.
• Citrix administration – experience supporting or administering Citrix environments.
• Secure coding and software engineering standards – develop secure, maintainable, reliable and scalable applications.
• Application support and troubleshooting – investigate and resolve incidents, defects and performance issues in business-critical applications.
• Performance optimisation – monitor and improve application performance, reliability and scalability.
• Technical documentation – produce and maintain solution designs, technical specifications, architecture documentation and engineering artefacts.
• Code reviews – conduct code reviews and ensure development standards and best practices are followed.
• Technical leadership – provide technical guidance, mentor junior developers and contribute to solution design decisions.
• Stakeholder engagement – work with business stakeholders, technical specialists, testing teams, release management and operations teams.
