The role
The NSW Parliament has now passed the Planning System Reforms Bill 2025 markinga generational change to the planning system. With the legislation now in place the focus shifts to implementation.
A key initiative under these reforms is the establishment of the Development Coordination Authority (DCA) to coordinate State inputs for decision-makers to speed up and improve planning and development outcomes for all users of the planning system. The DCA will build on the success of the Housing Taskforce which was created to lead coordinated government efforts to accelerate the assessment of housing development applications and removing barriers in the post-consent phase to ensure timely housing delivery.
The Business Support Officer role offers an exciting opportunity to be at the centre of the Housing Taskforces work to establish the DCA. You will play a pivotal role in enabling the effective operation of the Housing Taskforce reform team by delivering high-level administrative and governance support across program management activities.

What you will bring to the role
- Practical knowledge of the working of government and its processes
- Strong administrative skills with experience managing confidential and politically sensitive information.
- Proven ability to coordinate meetings prepare documentation and support stakeholder engagement.
- Skilled in streamlining processes and maintaining governance standards such as records management.
- Capable of handling competing priorities in a fast-paced dynamic environment.
- Demonstrated initiative in solving problems and improving operational efficiency
What is an essential requirement:
- Advanced skills in Microsoft office suite (PowerPoint Excel Word)
