Centre Chef/Cook – Abbotsford

Rise Early Learning

We are currently seeking an inspired Chef, Cook, or individual with a love for cooking to join our beautiful Early Childhood service in Abbotsford, NSW.

Our Ideal Candidate Will Meet the Following Selection Criteria:

• A genuine passion for cooking and preparing nutritious meals for children

• Experience in creating engaging and interactive cooking experiences for children

• Awareness of food allergies and intolerances, including anaphylaxis; ensuring a safe environment for all children

• Ability to follow Food Safety Program requirements and maintain hygiene standards.

Essential Criteria:

• Valid NSW Working With Children Check, or a willingness to obtain

• Available on a permanent part-time basis – Monday to Friday – and during school hours (32.5 hours per week)

• Able to commence work as soon as possible (or in January after our closure period)

• Understanding of contemporary child-safe practices, or a willingness to acquire this knowledge, with a commitment to complete upcoming mandatory Child Protection training

• Up-to-date Food Safety Supervisor Certificate, or a willingness to obtain Allergens in Child Care training at own expense prior to commencement

• Current relevant First Aid, CPR, Anaphylaxis, and Asthma Certificates, or a willingness to obtain/refresh as required

• Culinary qualifications are desirable but not essential; though a passion and/or experience as a Chef or Cook in an Early Childhood setting is.

About the Role

In this role, you will be required to plan, prepare, and serve fresh, delicious, and nutritious meals to the children who attend our service daily. Menu development and encouraging child participation in the cooking process are key aspects, along with helping us empower families with knowledge of optimal meal and food requirements. You will also help foster an engaging and positive mealtime environment that supports learning, curiosity, and well-being.

Rise Early Learning is a privately-owned and operated Early Childhood Education and Care provider catering for children from birth to six years. We have used our combined personal and professional experience in the sector to design a service which offers spaces for children, families, and Educators to develop trusting relationships, and foster a sense of community.

Rise Early Learning Abbotsford is a 48-place service situated within “Chatham House”; a heritage-listed federation house surrounded by beautiful, landscaped gardens and is the prime location to encourage children’s curiosity, imagination and exploration.
