Job Summary
Man of Many, Australia’s leading independent men’s lifestyle publication is looking for a Digital Editor to serve as the engine room of our daily operations. Reporting directly to the Editor-in-Chief, you will be the primary solution to our production bottlenecks. Your mission is to own our "hub" layer of content – managing production and maintenance of our written content across key verticals, and maintaining our archive of authoritative SEO content. This is a role for a technical powerhouse who thrives in a fast-paced digital newsroom and understands that in a "zero-click" reality, human-led quality is our greatest competitive advantage.
Key Responsibilities
- CMS & Publishing Management: Take full ownership of the technical upload, formatting, and publishing daily stories within our CMS.
- Freelance Oversight: Act as the first line of defense for our freelance roster. This includes rigorous fact-checking, technical editing, and enforcing a strict "No AI Prose" rule to maintain our authentic voice.
- Visual Excellence: Source and edit premium feature imagery from brand kits and official galleries. You will ensure every story meets our brand guidelines and editorial tone
- SEO Archive Maintenance: Strategically manage our significant back-catalog, optimising and updating evergreen content to ensure long-term relevance and performance.
- Workflow Optimisation: Work closely with key stakeholders in editorial, production and social to ensure stories are optimised for SEO and social distribution
Required Skills & Experience
- Digital Newsroom Experience: 3–5 years of professional experience in a fast-paced digital media environment or agency.
- CMS Proficiency: Expert-level comfort with modern Content Management Systems and digital publishing workflows.
- Image Editing Skills: A strong eye for visual storytelling with the ability to crop, color-correct, and select imagery that aligns with leading global lifestyle brands.
- Attention to Detail: A "self-starter" DNA with a borderline-obsessive focus on grammar, factual accuracy, and technical formatting, making each story the best it can be
- Strategic SEO Knowledge: A deep understanding of the changing search landscape, moving beyond keywords to understand the "why" behind audience data.
- The "Anti-AI" Instinct: The ability to spot and strip out synthetic, low-value AI writing in favour of punchy, human-led narrative.
