Purpose of the Role
BGIS is seeking an experienced Facilities Manager to support the day-to-day operations of a high-profile, fast-paced aviation environment.
Reporting to the Regional Services Manager, you will work closely with on-site teams, partners, and stakeholders to ensure services are delivered smoothly and safely. This role focuses on fostering strong relationships, supporting team success, and maintaining high standards across operations, compliance, and customer experience.
The ideal candidate is a thoughtful and approachable leader who values collaboration, communicates with clarity and empathy, and enjoys working in a dynamic environment where no two days are the same.
Key Responsibilities
– Support the coordination of on-site facilities operations, including technical teams and subcontractors
– Help ensure services align with contractual expectations and quality standards
– Contribute to financial planning, including budgets, forecasts, and cost awareness
– Build positive and respectful relationships with stakeholders, suppliers, and colleagues
– Promote and uphold WHS, environmental, and compliance practices
– Identify opportunities for continuous improvement and share ideas across teams
– Assist with reporting, performance tracking, and risk awareness
– Participate in a rotating on-call roster, including occasional after-hours support
Education, Experience & Skills
Essential:
– Experience in Facilities Management within complex or high-risk environments (e.g. aviation, infrastructure, healthcare, or similar)
– Understanding of contracts, service delivery, and operational processes
– Experience supporting teams and working with subcontractors
– Knowledge of WHS, compliance, and facilities-related legislation
– Familiarity with CMMS and Microsoft Office tools
– Strong communication skills and a collaborative approach to problem-solving
Desirable:
– Tertiary qualifications in Property, Business, Commerce, or related discipline (or equivalent experience)
– Industry certifications in Facilities, Project, or Property Management
– Experience in large, fast-paced environments
– Exposure to QA and environmental systems
Workplace Flexibility
This role is based full-time on-site in Mascot due to the operational nature of the environment.
