Eleanor Duncan Aboriginal Services (EDAS) is seeking a Family
Time Worker to support safe, structured, and culturally connected family
time for children and their parents and kin in out-of-home care.

About the role

Working within our Child, Family and Services
team, you will support the Permanency Support Program (PSP) by
facilitating supervised family time that is child-focused, culturally safe, and
trauma-informed.

This role plays a critical part in ensuring children
maintain safe and meaningful connections with family while supporting positive
outcomes in care.

Key responsibilities

• Facilitate
  safe, structured, and culturally appropriate family time sessions
• Monitor
  and respond to emotional, physical, and cultural safety risks
• Support
  transitions between children, parents, carers, and workers
• Maintain
  a welcoming, child-friendly environment
• Complete
  accurate, factual, and non-judgemental case notes
• Work
  collaboratively with caseworkers and contribute to wraparound support
• Attend
  training, supervision, and interagency meetings

About you

You are calm, observant, and compassionate, with the ability
to manage sensitive situations and maintain professional boundaries.

You will bring:

• Strong
  communication and interpersonal skills
• Demonstrated
  ability to work culturally safely with Aboriginal families and communities
• A
  trauma-informed and strengths-based approach
• Sound
  judgement in managing challenging or escalating situations
• Ability
  to maintain clear, objective documentation

Essential requirements

• Current
  NSW Driver’s Licence
• Current
  Working With Children Check
• Satisfactory
  Police Check
• Commitment
  to confidentiality, professionalism, and EDAS values

Desirable

• Experience
  in supervised contact, child and family services, or out-of-home care
• Understanding
  of intergenerational trauma and social determinants of health
• Knowledge
  of local services and community supports
• Aboriginality
  or strong connection to community (highly valued)
