About The Role

EWIS Maritime SPO is seeking an experienced ICT / Cyber Security Specialist to support its Adelaide-based operations team. The role reports directly to the SPO Security Manager and focuses on the management of ICT and cyber security across multiple Defence facilities, including offices, laboratories, and integration and test centres located within the Edinburgh Parks precinct.

The successful candidate will support ICT and cyber security governance, compliance, and operational security activities across EWIS-M facilities, working within high-security Defence environments.

Key Responsibilities

Manage and support Defence ICT systems across secure facilities

Apply and interpret Australian Government security frameworks including ISM, DSPF, and PSPF

Support cyber security risk management activities including identification and mitigation of risks related to Defence technologies

Engage with internal and external stakeholders across EWIS-M and Defence

Work independently while contributing effectively within a collaborative security team

Support ICT security operations across networks, systems, and Defence data links

Participate in an on-call roster under governance restrictions

Travel interstate periodically to support EWIS-M security and business operations

Operate within Defence Zone 4 and Zone 5 secure environments

Essential Experience And Attributes

Expand remit to include physical security responsibilities where required

Experience managing Defence ICT systems

Strong understanding of Defence information and cyber security environments

Demonstrated stakeholder engagement, communication, and leadership skills

Self-starter with the ability to work autonomously

Working knowledge of Defence networks, systems, and data links

Experience working in highly secure Defence facilities

Qualifications And Certifications

One or more of the following:

Bachelors degree in computer science, information technology, systems engineering, or software engineering with a system security focus

Minimum 5 years experience in a Defence information or system security environment

Recognised professional certification such as CISSP, ISO 27001 Lead Auditor, SANS 401, CompTIA Security+, CISM, CISA, or CRISC

IRAP Requirements

IRAP qualified with at least one certification from Category A and one from Category B
