Located in the Gulf of Carpentaria, 900 km southeast of Darwin and 64 km from Borroloola, MRM produces and processes Zinc, Lead and Silver from open cut mining operations. About the Role
Reporting to the Maintenance Superintendent, you will provide frontline leadership and supervision of heavy vehicle maintenance activities. You will ensure all work is executed safely, efficiently, and to a high standard, while maximising fleet availability and reliability. This role is critical to maintaining the performance of a large and diverse mining fleet and driving continuous improvement across maintenance operations.
Key Responsibilities
Providing direct supervision of contractors and sub-contractors working within the area of responsibility
Monitoring work tasks closely and helping resolve any associated issues promptly
Promote and maintain a strong safety-first culture aligned with Glencore SafeWork principles
Coordinate planned maintenance and breakdown response to minimise production impacts
Support planning and scheduling to optimise labour and resource utilisation
Mentor, coach, and develop tradespeople and apprentices
Ensure compliance with maintenance systems, standards, and statutory requirements
Monitor fleet performance and drive reliability and continuous improvement initiatives
Conducting toolbox talks and team safety meetings to promote a safety-conscious work environment
Fleet & Equipment Exposure
This role will involve working across a large-scale mining fleet, including but not limited to:
CAT 793D haul trucks
CAT 6060 / 6040 excavators
D10 / D11 dozers
CAT 992 / 995 loaders
Epiroc and Caterpillar Drills
About You
Trade qualified Diesel Fitter or Heavy Vehicle Mechanic
Proven experience supervising maintenance teams in mining or heavy industry
Strong working knowledge of Caterpillar equipment and maintenance practices
Experience on Epiroc and Caterpillar surface production drills
Sound understanding of maintenance and reliability principles
Demonstrated leadership capability with a focus on team development
Strong organisational, communication, and problem-solving skills
Experience with maintenance management systems (SAP) and Microsoft Office
