Role Overview

The Physiotherapist will support NDSCare participants to improve functional mobility, strength, motor development, postural management, and participation in daily activities. This role is ideal for a clinician who values creativity, autonomy, and working closely with families within their natural environments.

The Physiotherapist will collaborate with the CNC, RNs, OTs, Speech Pathologists, and AHAs under a transdisciplinary model. New graduates and early-career clinicians are welcomed and supported.

Key Responsibilities

The Physiotherapist will:

Complete functional assessments including gross motor, mobility, tone, balance, and postural evaluations.

Deliver evidence-based intervention for motor development, gait training, strength, coordination, and physical literacy.

Develop individualised therapy goals in partnership with families and the allied health team.

Provide education to carers, support workers, and teachers to support safe movement and motor practice.

Produce clinical reports including functional assessments, mobility plans, and NDIS review documentation.

Collaborate with OTs for equipment needs (e.g., walkers, standers, seating), providing PT-specific input.

Develop programs suitable for delegation to AHAs, providing training, resources, and regular performance review.

Attend MDT reviews, planning meetings, and school-based discussions where relevant.

Training, Supervision & Support

The Physiotherapist will have access to:

Regular supervision with senior clinicians and the CNC

Internal modules in motor development, posture, and equipment pathways

AHA delegation training

Joint sessions and shadowing opportunities

Clinical reviews and MDT case discussions

Ongoing PD support and clear pathways to senior roles

Requirements

Essential:

Bachelor or Master of Physiotherapy

AHPRA registration

Australian working rights

Police Check

NDIS Worker Screening

WWCC

Driver’s licence + reliable vehicle

Desirable (not required):

Experience in paediatrics, disability, motor development, or community work

Familiarity with equipment pathways (with OT support)

Understanding of NDIS documentation requirements

Work Environment & Travel

This is a community-based role that involves travelling between client homes, schools, and community settings. NDSCare pays clinicians their standard hourly rate for travel, generally up to 1 hour per day depending on scheduling and client location. Clinicians also receive $0.99 per kilometre for use of their personal vehicle, along with reimbursement for tolls and parking fees incurred while attending client appointments (excludes any parking fines).

Administrative support is provided to streamline scheduling, reduce unnecessary travel, and optimise caseload locations.

Remuneration

We offer competitive hourly rates based on experience, aligned with or above HPSS Award levels.

Rates are discussed individually depending on clinical background and availability.

Travel time and mileage are paid separately.

This position begins as a casual or contractor, with a pathway to permanent employment within 3–6 months.
