About the role:
Due to rapid growth and a strong pipeline of client projects, we are currently looking for a Project Manager to support the delivery of several projects within Aurizn’s Integrated Electromagnetic Warfare Program (IEWP).
As part of this role, you will work closely with customers and multi-disciplinary teams on-site at DSTG Edinburgh to plan and deliver software and research focused capabilities for the Australian Defence Force. This role would suit an experienced Project Manager with a background in software delivery, synthetic test & evaluation, modelling & simulation, or electromagnetic warfare who is comfortable working directly with Defence customers and multidisciplinary engineering teams.
This varied role and would see you take on a range of tasks including:
- Lead the end-to-end delivery of multiple technical Defence projects, ensuring agreed scope, schedule, quality and customer outcomes are achieved.
- Work closely with clients and industry stakeholders to understand requirements and define tangible tasks for engineering teams to deliver against.
- Report on project and individual team progress to clients and internal business stakeholders.
- Develop, maintain and actively manage project schedules, milestones, dependencies and delivery plans.
- Produce, review and deliver Australian Standard for Defence Contracting (ASDEFCON) documents.
- Proactively identify, manage and communicate project risks and issues, implementing mitigation strategies and escalating where appropriate.
- Coordinate multidisciplinary engineering teams to ensure delivery priorities, dependencies and customer expectations remain aligned.
About you:
We are seeking an experienced Project Manager who enjoys working in a highly technical Defence environment collaborating closely with customers and engineering teams to deliver capability outcomes.
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in Project Management, Engineering, Science or a related discipline, or equivalent industry experience.
- Project Management certifications (AIPM CPPP/CPPM, PMI PMP, PRINCE2 Practitioner or equivalent) are highly regarded.
- Demonstrated experience delivering projects within Defence, Government, engineering or other complex technical environments.
- Experience working with multi-disciplinary engineering teams in a Defence, Government or complex technical environment.
- Experience developing, reviewing or managing ASDEFCON documentation, or familiarity with the ASDEFCON suite of templates.
- Experience or familiarity with electromagnetic warfare, modelling & simulation, or test & evaluation fundamentals is desirable.
- Experience working with DSTG or armed forces is desirable.
Due to a requirement for Defence Clearance to undertake the duties of the role, Australian Citizenship is required. Also, must meet applicable ITAR eligibility requirements.
