Feedlot Livestock 2IC

About the Role
Our client is a well-established, family-owned pastoral group running a 10,000-head cattle feedlot in northern NSW, with active expansion plans underway. They're looking for a 2IC or Leading Hand to support the Feedlot Manager in the daily running of the livestock operations.
As the business grows, so will this role — expect increasing scope and responsibility across the team, systems, and scale of the operation.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate, lead and support the livestock team across arrival, induction, animal health, treatments, drafting, and dispatch
- Support daily operational planning alongside the Feedlot Manager
- Monitor cattle health, welfare, and feeding program execution
- Oversee QA, food safety, and WHS compliance
- Assist with staff rostering, training, and supervision
- Maintain accurate records using feedlot software
What We're Looking For
- Proven experience in either a feedlot or farm/station as a livestock supervisor, or senior stationhand level. (Feedlot experience not essential)
- Strong stock handling and animal husbandry skills
- Understanding of feedlot software and equipment is preferable
- A practical, safety-first approach and ability to work independently
- Solid communication and team leadership skills
- Relevant certifications
- Full working rights in Australia. Australian and New Zealand Citizens and current Working Holiday Visa holders.

- Casual wage to start then progress to full time salary, commensurate with experience ($90,000–$105,000 + super, indicative)
