The opportunity

The Team Leader is responsible for leading a team working across all facets of debt recovery. It's a great opportunity to showcase your people management and communication skills, and you will work closely with the leadership group of the Branch.

Reporting to the Branch Manager, you will be responsible for:

  • Managing and leading your team to deliver excellence in the recovery of debt.
  • Managing team performance effectively through mentoring, counselling and conflict resolution.
  • Managing the enforcement and collection of outstanding revenue.
  • Building positive and effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Initiating and driving innovation and process improvement, including by identifying and monitoring new and emerging trends.
  • Contributing to the planning and/or development of strategic recovery activities and policy options.

Who we are looking for

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Strong leadership skills with a passion for, and experience in, developing, leading and mentoring staff to achieve the best outcomes.
  • The ability to inspire and engage staff to deliver excellent service and achieve business objectives consistent with corporate values.
  • Experience liaising with internal and external stakeholders, monitoring performance, promoting a positive team culture, utilising change management skills, and managing workloads within and across teams.
  • An ability to respond to complex enquiries, interpret and apply legislation, initiate and drive innovation and process improvement while contributing to the organisation's strategic direction in various forums.
